The Hottest Games for a Hot Summer

It feels like my blood is about boil and summer hasn’t started officially. There isn’t a logically reason why I will be on the road walking this summer begging for a heatstroke. So in preparation for my summer hibernation I have made a list of five games available now that can keep anyone house bound till winter.  Let’s start this list with…
Batman Arkham Knight 2
The first Batman Arkham Knight was a masterpiece and game of the year for some game publication. It’s a huge open world game filled with villains form Batman’s past. Now take that and multiple by thousand and add the bat mobile and you’ll have Batman Arkham Knight 2. Also, the game graphics looks…  A M A Z I N G!! The heat wave plus this game in my PS4 will certainly cause some ozone layer damage or a green house effect.
 The Witcher 3
Before Batman Arkham Knight 2 there was The Witcher 3 and there is still a lot of talking about which is better. The Witcher 3 is a well crafted action RPG with so much content that it will take you well over summer to fully complete the game. Huge is an understatement, this game is colossal! The Witcher 3 is at least 3.7 times the size of the 36 km2 GTA San Andreas map, it’s 1.5 times bigger than the 81 km2 of GTA V. You’ll be playing this game for awhile.
 Mortal Kombat X
Again, the X stands for Xtreme! I doubt that anyone can argue if I say this is the best fighting game out now on any console. MKX has a nice balance between old and new features and characters. The fighting mechanics got revamped and leveled the playing field to help new comers to the series to adjust. If you get bored of adventuring and want to just go online to let off some steam then look no further than MKX, but be sure you are ready for what you are going to unleash.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse
It’s Dragon Ball game with character creation; do I need to say more?  The share fact that you get the ability to replay epic battles in the Dragon Ball Z universe with a character that you build from scratch is more than enough to get my money. This game is a mixture of adventure, fighting, and socializing with other gamers that are likely anime lovers too.  Dragon Ball Xenoverse is an extremely addictive and gratifying game, in spite of some evident shortcomings.

Destiny
The game that will break your bank account is the last on the list. Yes, destiny is almost a year old but it is still a highly played game for most persons. There is no doubt that this game will be satisfying for persons looking for a first person shooter with more to offer this summer. There are no limits to what will/can/might happen in Destiny. It’s quite easy to lose track of time while playing this game. Be careful not to get addicted or you’ll turn your head and it will be December and you’ll be broke.

Final Thoughts
This is one of the few summers that gamers have so many “A” list games to choose from. The water parties this summer better move there venues to my living room cause I’ll be a hermit for the next 8 weeks! A Magnificent Bot

This is a review with a difference and meant for educators across the country of Jamaica. This week I had the honor of reviewing a product that is meant for learning robotics with scratch programming. The device I’m talking about is the mBot-Blue (Bluetooth Version) made by Makeblock. I’m such a geek for robotics!

What is mBot?
Maker Works Technology INC has found away to incorporate all fields of STEM education into one small inexpensive robotic device called mBot. This robotic device is available in two colors (Blue and Pink) and two versions (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi). It helps kids get a hands-on experience on mechanics, electronics, control systems and computer science. The mBot is for learning and although it is meant for kids age 10 and up, I’m a grown ass man that wants one too.
The fact is that if you are willing to learn and fascinated with robotics then you probably would have some interest in the mBot, but Makeblock also has many other robotic products on their site for more advance users.

Test Subject “A”
Amoy Boswell who is a grade 6 student from St. Georges Infant and Primary school was recruited to assemble and program the mBot. The result was astounding to say the least. She assembled the robot from scratch in 40 minutes with little to know supervision.
After which she couldn’t hold her enthusiasm to move on to the programming stage of the exercise and see the mBot come to life. The programming stage of the mBot wasn’t hard to do, but the setup for the programming took us a little time to get right, because of some issues with a PC we had. Amoy Boswell was thought for 30 minutes how to program the mBot using graphical programming inspired by Scratch 2.0. After a small amount of trails and errors she was able to full control the mBot form the PC we were using. The remarkable part of programming the mBot is realizing how in depth you can go in coding the device or how simple it can be for a 10 year old.

Final Thoughts
The mBot is a marvelous product to initiate learning at any level of education. This small robot is just what the education sector need to stimulate STEM education in schools.
