Five Joys of the Samsung Galaxy S5

I have been asked by many why I haven’t done a blog post on the Samsung Galaxy S5, Gear 2, and Gear Fit as yet. Why Payton? Please just tell us the truth about the Samsung Galaxy S5. Well, my silence is over and I’m safe to speak now. The truth is… I was waiting to see the Non-LTE version of the Galaxy S5, because that is the version of the phone Jamaica always seem to get, because of the lack of mobile LTE in our country. I’m still waiting, but to this date I haven’t seen a second version of this highly anticipated Smartphone. So, that was the main reason for the wait, but the readers’ beckon and I can’t be silent anymore. This article is about the Five Joys of the Galaxy S5 that consumers should know.

Camera and Video Quality
The first thing that jumps out at you when you see the spec sheet of the Galaxy S5 is the larger number attached to the number of megapixels this phone has. The exact number is 16 megapixel of camera goodness that will produce a photo that are 5312 x 2988. The next noteworthy feature is UHD (2160p@30fps) and HD (1080p@60fps) video recording which is currently only available on the Samsung Note 3 at the moment. These camera and video features are a welcome addition to the device for bloggers, writers and photo fanatics like me.

Security
The Galaxy S5 also comes with a fingerprint scanner that is a perfect deterrent for inquisitive girlfriend/boyfriend. The phone can be locked up tighter than government finances around budget readings with the unlock option being your unique fingerprint. Wish I had this option with the last Smartphone that got stolen two years ago.

Battery Life
It’s been said that the Galaxy S5 has a amazing battery conservation feature called Ultra Power Saving Mode that will extend your battery life to new limits. If this is true I will be the first in line to spend my money in April when this phone launches. I am certainly getting tired of my phone only lasting a day on Digicel 4G.

Dust and Water Resistant
This time around the Galaxy S5 comes with IP67 certification (Dust and water Resistant) which means that this device can be submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes with no damaged done. No matter how you look at it this is a great feature to have just in case.

Performance
The Galaxy S5 is using the new Snapdragon 801 chip-set that offers great quad core performance with efficient battery consumption.

Final Thoughts
The launch date for us over here is sometime in April for the Samsung Galaxy S5 until then we will have to sit and count the days until then. Twenty days left until April… yes I’m keeping check!
