So the best kept secret is out... no pun intended. But seriously the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the S6 Edge + is official now. So what are the pro and cons of Samsung' s new flagship phones?  Well let's start with the king that everyone has been waiting for... The Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Fist let's look at the spec sheet so we can clear the air.
  • Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, 16M colors

So you must be wondering why did I forget to put the SD card slot and infrared port on the specification sheet but the truth is… it’s not present in the device. Also the battery is smaller than the Galaxy Note 4 but it is said that it last just as long. This I’ll have to test once I have gotten my hands on a device for a full review. Next, I should mention is the added features that are not relevant to the spec sheet but pretty darn good to leave out of this blog.

Noteworthy Features

Built-in YouTube Live Streaming

Have you ever wanted to cover a live event but you also wanted to have a live stream of it on your YouTube Channel so viewers could feel more engaged and current with what you covering? I sure would have loved that when I was at CES January. Well, now that YouTube Live Stream feature is built right into the camera app of the Note 5 and S6 Edge +. This is an uploader’s dream…

The New Action Memo.

On the note 4 action memo was reached through the pop up window that would appear when you took the S Pen out the phone, that was only possible when the phone was awake and in your hands.  Now, with the new action memo you are able to do that from the lock screen when the phone is in stand by mode. This is what I call saving time while looking cool. The screen remains off and only lights up the parts you are writing or drawing on.

Scroll Capture

Now the Note 5 gives you the ability to take a screen shot of an entire Web page or document. So no more multiple screen shots troubles to save one Web page.

PDF Writing

Now the Note 5 offers to user the ability to write on PDF which is pretty handy for executives who handle documents on the regular and email them after with signature.

Samsung Pay

Samsung Pay is Samsung’s simple, safe and virtually anywhere mobile payment service, will launch in Korea on August 20 and in the U.S. on September 28. Protected by Samsung KNOX, fingerprint verification and digital tokenization, Samsung Pay works with both MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) and NFC (Near Field Communication) technologies, bringing consumers closer than ever to a world without wallets. The feature of this in Jamaica still hasn’t gotten a solid date yet, but maybe it will be before the end of the year.

Final Thoughts
Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten to speak about the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +. The S6 Edge + has a dual curve display and the same features and specification as the Note 5, expect for the S Pen functionality. Truth be told a lot persons are iffy about Samsung’s new flagships this year, but until I get my hands on one for a full review I can only comment on the design and initial experience, and with that said… I want one. I want one badly… It feels amazing in the hands and the new video collage feature it has is a great built in function for a camera. I like the new note, but the S6 edge + is just not my style; I am more of a productivity type of a person. Although, the S6 Edge + would be great for persons who consume a lot of media, and with the dual curve edges media on this device seem to have a 3D type of effect. So, until an official hand on review… My verdict is ago for now.
