Hours after the launch of Samsung's flag ship phone (The Galaxy S4) on 14/3/2013, I got the chance to speak with the Elias Kabeche who is the VP of Sales & Marketing for Samsung Electronics Latin America and Miami to get some additional insights into Samsung next super phone. After a lengthy conversation these are the five major points that we as the consumers should know.

  • Specifications: 1.9 GHz Quad-Core Processor or 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor (The selection of Processor will be differed by markets), 2GB of RAM, Rear Camera - 13 Mega pixel & Zero Shutter Lag, Front Camera - 2 Mega pixel camera, 5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display (441 ppi).
  • Features: Air View (allows users to hover with their fingers to preview content), Air Gestures (you can change the music track, scroll up and down a web page, or accept a call with a wave of your hand),Samsung Smart Pause (When you are watching a video, the video pauses when you look away then it starts right up again when you are back.), Smart Scroll (allows you to scroll the browser or emails up and down without touching the screen.), Samsung Optical Reader (automatically recognize text, business card or QR code information, and provide useful functions such as translation, call, text message and search.)
  • Release Date:  Around the end of April.
  • Price: Rough estimate ... around $600 US.
  • The Tag Line: Galaxy S4 -A Life Companion for a richer, simpler and fuller life.

Until my companion comes at the end of April, all we can do is sit and hope that Jamaica gets the eight core version of the Galaxy S4.
