My mother usually had a saying that "anything cheap nuh good". Well, Digicel and Huawei has proven that statement wrong this year with the introduction of a 7 inch android tablet that will wow even the most scenically buyer when both price and product are combined. This week I have for you the full review of the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite.

Design

The Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite is well designed with a aluminum for the back cover and two strips of white plastic on the top and bottom of the device. The device feels sturdy in your hands and not cheap like the price tag may make you believe. The SIM card and micro SD slots on the device are nice hidden at the side of the tablet. Plus the volume rocker and power buttons are  well elevated on the side of the tablet to make sure you don't miss them when they are needed.

Display

The MediaPad 7 Lite sports a 7-inch 1024 x 600-pixel, capacitive IPS display. This display promises excellent viewing angles, precise colors and fast response times for videos and gaming. The Pixel density is 170ppi which is okay for a budget tablet and forgivable for its size. As for color reproduction, most users will be happy with the profound blacks and pleasant contrast ratio on the display. The device is bright enough in most surroundings, but still not bright enough to be used outdoors on a normal Jamaican hot as hell sunny day.

Performance

Let's start this by say that a single core processor in any electronic device in this day and age is like having no girlfriend for the Christmas... "Torture". The device runs smooth if and only if you are not using a processor intense program or watching a 1080p HD video with things running in the background. The trick is... don't use live wallpapers and you'll have a smoother user experience with this device. The camera quality of both cameras are decent enough to post pictures on Facebook or Twitter, but that's as far it goes. The video playback of HD (High Definition) content on this device is surprising good... once you don't have anything running in the background. Last but not least, call quality... which is not bad given the fact that this is a tablet not a phone. P.S you'll need to put some cloths on your conversation when calling on this device, because all call are routed through the loud speaker.

Final Thoughts

I don't know what kind of witch craft Digicel did to be sell this tablet for around $19,000 prepaid and around $15,000 postpaid, but continue working your magic Digicel, because this spell is good! You'll never get a Phone/3GTablet anywhere for those prices. So I concluded by saying The MediaPad 7 Lite is a great purchase for the young, the old and the feeble.
